Celebrity Cruises

A step above the mainstream lines, without going full luxury.

Overview

Sailing with Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity sits between the big mass-market lines and true luxury cruising. Nicer finishes, a real wine program, and ships that look like they were designed by architects instead of naval engineers.

Good to know

  • Skews adult, but not adults-only
  • Strong specialty dining program
  • Popular for honeymoons

What Makes Them Different

What sets Celebrity Cruises apart

The Magic Carpet

The Magic Carpet

On Edge-class ships, a cantilevered platform physically moves up and down the side of the hull. It works as a restaurant, a boarding platform, and a lounge depending on the day. Nothing else in the industry does this.

The Galápagos, by small yacht

The Galápagos, by small yacht

Celebrity runs its own boutique expedition yachts through the Galápagos, a completely different product from the main fleet.

The Fleet

Celebrity Cruises ship classes

Edge Class

Edge Class

Celebrity Edge, Apex, Beyond, and Ascent, with Celebrity Xcel joining the fleet in 2025. The newest and largest ships, home to the Magic Carpet and Infinite Veranda cabins with a wall that opens straight to the outside air.

  • The Magic Carpet is a cantilevered platform the size of a tennis court that travels 14 decks up the side of the hull, doubling as a restaurant, bar, and boarding platform
  • Eden is a three-story venue built around a living plant wall, with a dining and entertainment concept found nowhere else at sea
  • Infinite Veranda cabins open a full glass wall to the outside air, blurring the line between balcony and room
Solstice Class

Solstice Class

Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette, and Reflection, all launched between 2008 and 2012. Known for the Lawn Club, a real grass lawn built into the top deck, an unusual feature Celebrity has kept refining ever since.

  • The Lawn Club put real, growing grass on a cruise ship for the first time, a half-acre you can walk barefoot on
  • Persian Garden, part of the Canyon Ranch spa, is a full aromatic thermal suite most lines don’t bother building
  • A quieter, more residential feel than the newer Edge Class ships, without giving up Celebrity’s finishes
Millennium Class

Millennium Class

Millennium, Infinity, Summit, and Constellation, dating back to 2000 through 2002. The oldest and smallest ships still sailing under the Celebrity name, more traditional in layout but still nicely finished.

  • The Conservatory is a glass-enclosed garden filled with floral art, a genuinely pretty space to wander that most ships don’t have room for
  • Canyon Ranch SpaClub here runs close to 25,000 square feet, among the largest spas at sea
  • The most traditional layout in the fleet, for guests who want a classic ship feel over a mega-resort
Galápagos Expedition Yachts

Galápagos Expedition Yachts

Celebrity Xploration, Celebrity Xpedition, and Celebrity Flora are small boutique yachts built specifically for the Galápagos, a completely separate fleet from the main ocean ships.

  • Celebrity Flora was purpose-built specifically for the Galápagos, the first ship designed from scratch just for these islands
  • Infinite Veranda cabins convert to a full open-air balcony at the touch of a button, even out here
  • Genuinely small: Xploration carries just 16 guests, Xpedition 48, and Flora 100, for a trip that feels like a private expedition rather than a cruise
